Graduate Institute Scholarships - Switzerland

Each year the Graduate Institute awards several scholarships to Master and PhD students. Awards are based on academic merit and financial need.

There are three categories of scholarship:

  • Full scholarships: with a few exceptions

Global South Scholar - Switzerland

The Institute is pleased to welcome academics from Africa, Asia and Latin America for a period of one semester.


Candidates are invited to apply to the programme. Successful applicants will be able to take advantage of their period in residence to update their teaching curricula, participate in teaching courses, further their research projects and contribute to enriching the intellectual life of the Institute.

Scholarships at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U.Leuven) - Belgium

Scholarship Description:

The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a maximum period of 3 years (PhD student, regular employment contract). The remuneration will be in line with the EC rules for Marie Curie grant holders (Early-Stage Researchers, ITN).

Scholarship Positions at Ghent University - Belgium

A PhD position is available to join the research team that develops the multipurpose magnetic software platform “MuMax”. In a collaboration between the DyNaMat and EELAB groups at UGent, we are currently developing this high-performance simulation package that allows to simulate, on the one hand,

  • Promotion of scientific work at leading foreign research institutions; gaining experience abroad during the postdoc-phase







  • facilitation of access to new scientific areas, methods, procedures and techniques so as to contribute - following return to Austria - to the further development of science in Austria
