CICOPS International Scholarships at the University of Pavia, Italy






Each year, the University of Pavia and the Organisation for the Right to Education (EDiSU) offer ten scholarships for developing countries’ students. The scholarships are available for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries and members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies. The application deadline is June 30, 2013.

Eligibility: -The scholarships were designed for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries or members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.
-Applicants must have either two years of either teaching experience or activity in international organisations and institution.
-CICOPS scholarships are foreseen for research collaboration in the short period (from 4 to 10 weeks) in order to encourage the mobility of researchers from developing countries and cannot be awarded in case of doctoral studies or enrollment in a Postgraduate course at an Italian University.

Scholarship Description: The scholarships were designed for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries or members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies. Since 1998, the University of Pavia and the Institute for University Studies (EDiSU) have offered about ten scholarships yearly for a four to ten week stay in Pavia, during which time the scholars carry out joint research with professors in the department that hosts them and often hold seminars. Academics and other researchers from developing countries who wish to carry out research in collaboration with a professor at the University of Pavia are welcome to apply. Applicants must have the support of a collaborator at the University of Pavia.

The SIM Global Education Scholarship - Singapore

The SIM Global Education Scholarship is awarded to outstanding local and international students to pursue overseas Bachelor's degree programmes at SIM Global Education (SIM GE).

Up to 35 scholarships will be awarded each year to deserving new and existing students. The categories of scholarship are:

Academic Excellence and Leadership

Awards are granted to outstanding students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated leadership qualities both in and outside the classroom.

Sports and Artistic Talent

Awards are granted to athletes who possess an impressive track record of achievement in sports or individuals with outstanding artistic talents.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to Singapore citizens, permanent residents and international students

  • Outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level, Local Polytechnic Diploma, IB Diploma or Year 12 equivalent qualifications

  • An impressive community contribution and co-curricular activities involvement record

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills


TENURE OF SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is tenable for the minimum period required to complete the full course of study, as stipulated by the programme.

VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP

The award covers tuition fees, examination fees and other compulsory fees, as well as a book allowance. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

APPLICATION

There are two application periods per year:

  • March for programmes commencing in the second half of the current year. (UOL existing students are only eligible to apply in March)

  • September for programmes commencing in the first half of the following year.


Closing dates for application are on the last day of March and September respectively.

Applicants must separately seek admission to their programmes of choice and must be accepted for admission before being awarded the scholarship.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • All shortlisted candidates are required to undergo an interview by the SIM Global Education Scholarships Selection Panel. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified through phone call if your application is successful.

  • SIM Global Education does not enter into any correspondence on the award of the Scholarship and reserves the right to vary the terms and conditions of any SIM Global Education Scholarship without prior notice.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Scholar is required to sit for all tests, assessments and examinations and obtain the Qualification within the minimum period required of study

  • Scholar is not allowed to change the Programme at any time

  • Scholar shall not take up or register or enroll in any diploma or degree course(s) without the prior written approval of the Sponsor

  • Scholar shall not, without the prior written approval of the Sponsor, hold the Scholarship Award concurrently with any other scholarship or tuition grant

  • Academic performance will be reviewed every semester

  • The Scholarship may be withdrawn at any time if, in the opinion of the Sponsor, the scholar’s progress or behaviour is deemed unsatisfactory

Alcanta International College (AIC) Scholarships for International Students

Alcanta International College (AIC) is offering scholarships for international students to excel at AIC and beyond. Students who apply to any AIC programme as full-time international students are eligible to apply for these scholarships. All scholarships apply only to the tuition fee. Three types of scholarships are available namely academic scholarships, merit scholarships and financial scholarships which are valued up to 100% of the tuition fee, 50% of the tuition fee and 30,000 RMB respectively. Scholarship Description: In support of the AIC Mission, Vision and Goals, and to create educational opportunities at AIC for international students of exceptional ability and potential, AIC is excited to announce its International Students Scholarship Programme for the 2013- 2014 academic year,valued at 1,000,000 RMB. Notification: Applicants must be available for interviews within two weeks following the deadline. Only in special circumstances and at the discretion of the Principal, will late applications be considered. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application within two weeks after the interview.

Master and Doctoral Scholarships 2013 Universidad Carlos III, Madrid

Universidad Carlos III, Madrid Master in Business and Quantitative Methods (MB&QM) and PhD program Finance and Management Tracks The Business Department at Universidad Carlos III is requesting applications for its Master in Business Administration and Quantitative Methods. The department is offering 15 scholarships to qualified students to take part in this program, either in the  Finance track  or Management track.

The objective of the scholarships for this master is to prepare highly qualified and motivated students to carry out original research in the fields of finance and management, with a thorough preparation in empirical methods and statistics. This Master also represents the first two years in our five year PhD program. The program is a full-time program with all classes been taught in English. Graduating students find placement in the world of research, both academic and non-academic, in international organizations, central banks, government agencies and firms.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Students in the first year acquire a broad set of theoretical and methodological skills in the fields of Finance, Management, and Statistics. During the second year, students complete their training in their areas of specialization and have the option to continue along a more intense academic track as preparation for the PhD program, or complete their training with more applied courses. Those in the finance track have access to courses in the MSc in Finance, and those in the Management track can take courses from the MSc in Management or the MSc in Marketing.

Our PhD program has been accredited as a Program of Excellence by the Spanish Government and it is internationally oriented. The MB&QM is part of the QTEM Network joint with the Université Libre de Bruxelles;

Universiteit van Amsterdam; Goethe-Universität Frankfurt; Université de Lausanne; Norwegian Business School; Taiwan University and Luiss Guido Carli University. Some students will have the option to stay in these institutions as part of their training.

FUNDING:

Selected candidates receive a yearly scholarship of approximately 14,000 euros (before taxes) for two years. This scholarship is renewable for students that are accepted into the PhD program. Renewals will be made  individually and  conditional on the student’s academic and research performance. Scholarships, if renewed, may cover an additional period of up to three years at most. Scholarship recipients are required to act as Teaching Assistants in those subjects and degrees in which the Department is involved.

IRENA Scholarships for Studying Renewable Energy

In an effort to promote human capital development, up to 20 highly-accomplished applicants are annually awarded IRENA scholarships at the Abu Dhabi based MASDAR Institute of Science and Technology (MI), with the generous support of the Government of the United Arab Emirates. Scholarship students received one of eight Master of Science Programmes offered at MASDAR Institute.

The IRENA scholars will also be able to attend an exclusive high-level lecture programme, aimed at presenting the latest developments in the field of renewable energies.
