The research project, entitled QCD-Matter at High Density and High Energy, is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and aims at the understanding of extremely dense QCD systems which are created in heavy-ion collision experiments at RHIC and LHC. The focus will be on the following topics in heavy-ion physics: small-x QCD evolution, the issue of thermalization in heavy-ion collisions and RHIC and LHC phenomenology. The PhD position is granted for up to three years, which is the expected time for obtaining a doctoral degree in Germany, and is available immediately. The successful applicant will work with Arif Shoshi at the Faculty of Theoretical Physics, University of Bielefeld, Germany. The Faculty of Physics in Bielefeld provides a very dynamical research enviroment with many staff members, postdocs and students working in the field of dense QCDand related areas (for details visithttp://www.physik.uni-bielefeld.de/theory/e6/welcome.htm).Applications should include a CV, transcripts of university grades and degrees, a statement of research interests and the names of two senior scientists who are in a position to judge the applicant's suitability for a PhD in theoretical physics
