The Scottish Executive is offering 22 scholarships for students from these countries during the academic year 2006/7. The scholarships are available for courses at any Scottish higher education institution and applications for science and technology and creative industries will be given priority.

What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers the tuition fees, return economy airfare and a living allowance.
The following subject areas will be given priority:
science and technology
creative industries (including arts, design and culture).
The course must be:
a Masters programme of not more than 12 months
based in a Scottish higher education institution
during the academic year 2006/7.

Policies and Procedures
Background
The Foundation of the National Automatic Merchandising Association will award seven (7) $2,500 post high school non-renewable scholarships in fall 2006. These scholarships will be subject to review and authorization of the Foundation Board of Directors before the announcement-application-award cycle for any future year begins.
Qualifications
An applicant must meet the following:
1. Must be a graduating high school senior or student enrolled full-time in a college undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.
2. Must maintain and verify a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
3. Must be the son/daughter/legal dependent of an employee of a NAMA member company and be sponsored by that company.
4. Must be an American citizen.
Information for Scholarship Winner
* Each applicant must fill out the approved application in full. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications must be postmarked by the DEADLINE DATE of March 1, 2006.
* Each application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a non-family adult such as a teacher, employer, etc.
* Family income, financial need or college major are not determining factors in these awards.
* Each scholarship applies only to the academic year in which it is awarded and will be forfeited if the student does not attend school with a minimum of 12 credits beginning in the fall term.
* The scholarship will be divided throughout the academic calendar year into equal parts for each term. The first part will be forwarded in the student's name to the school of choice, prior to registration for classes in the fall of 2006. The remaining funds will be forwarded to the school, prior to registration for classes in succeeding terms upon verification that the recipient has maintained at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale grade point average in the previous term. All funds will be dispersed within a consecutive 12-month period.
* Al
l applications will be screened by the Foundation Scholarship Committee to ensure they are qualified and complete.
* Applicants may reapply each year for as long as they are eligible. (An applicant may only win once).
* Parent or legal guardian must continue to be employed by the sponsoring company throughout the entire scholarship duration.
* NAMA employees and their families are not eligible.
* Winners will be determined through a random drawing of all eligible applicant names during the opening session of the 2006 Spring Expo. One alternate will also be selected.
