The Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) offers fellowships to professionals who are citizens of a developing country and who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at Utrecht University. NUFFIC administers the programme on behalf of the Dutch Government. NFP fellowships are only available for a selection of Master's degree courses. Please check the web site mentioned below for a current overview of approved programmes.

Number of scholarships and duration
NFP fellowships are distributed among programmes at all Dutch universities. Approximately 6 fellowships each year are awarded to students applying to Utrecht University. Fellowships are awarded for the duration of the programme. This is normally between 11 and 24 months. NFP fellowships provide students with sufficient funds to cover their essential expenses (i.e. tuition fee, accommodation, living expenses and travel). Students who are awarded a fellowship must undertake to return to their country of origin as soon as the course is finished.

1. Apply for the Master’s programme of your choice at Utrecht University. If you are admitted, you can
2. Obtain an NFP application form from the Dutch Embassy or consulate in your home country or region or from www.nuffic.nl/nfp.
3. Submit your NFP application form, along with the necessary documents, to the Dutch embassy or consulate in your country.
4. NUFFIC selects the candidates, who are notified through the Dutch embassy or consulate.

The deadline for applying to Utrecht University is December 1.
The deadline for submission of the NFP Fellowship application form is March 1.
